Everything new for Germany’s leading motocross / supercross print & online magazine.

I love motocross and other action sports. What could be nicer than having customers who also share this passion with you. This is the best constellation you can imagine, for me as well as for my customers. This shared passion makes the product all the better.

I was invited to join the CROSS Magazine team to create a new concept for a redesign and to code the website from scratch based on the new technology. The focus was on mobile devices and the design was optimized on this. The website expands the print magazine with daily news from the scene. The content management is used by many editors. And over 15,000 articles were migrated from the old system. We used WordPress as the basis and a completely custom theme was developed with many special features, functions and custom post types. In addition to the daily new content, paid content with special articles is also offered. This enables the high quality editorial content to be ported from the print medium into the digital world.

Mobile first

Most users visit the website with their smartphone or tablet. So the priority was clearly on these devices with a custom responsive web design.

Clear UX/UI & Emotion

A simple user experience is essential. It was just as important to present large pictures of action sports and to design the articles in the best possible way.

Completely customized

Programmed from scratch, flexible, expandable with independent code and self-developed functions as well as special plugins as WordPress Theme.

Content focus

15.000+ posts were migrated. New ones are added every day and the editors have many options to structure articles in different ways.

Shift to digital

As a print medium, it is important to make the leap into the digital world. With a paid content system, we transport high quality print content to the web.
